Outpatient Mental Health Care

Therapy and Counseling are names of the same service that are often used interchangeably. This service is delivered by Mental Health Professionals with an appropriate clinical license to practice in the State of Maine.

Qualified, licensed therapists at Maine Behavioral Health Organization treat a wide range of problems including trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss issues, or mental illness.

Outpatient services help people deal with stress, trauma, impulse control, personality disorders, eating disorders, behavioral, social, or family problems. We offer individual treatment to address these and other issues.

Our clinical staff is trained to provide therapy and consultation to parents of children coping with childhood issues including ADHD, school adjustment, and changes within families.

Outpatient Services, including Substance Use Counseling

Substance use counseling combines treatment and support to help individuals break free from drug or alcohol addiction. This form of therapy is often a key component of rehabilitation programs, assisting clients in overcoming substance dependence both mentally and emotionally.

Group counseling sessions are offered periodically and announced on our Facebook page. These may include DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), general group counseling, and Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) sessions.

MBHO offers school-based social work services for schools partnered with our organization. These services provide on-site support to students and families, promoting emotional well-being and access to community resources.

MBHO also provides specialized programs facilitated by certified counselors, including Triple P (Positive Parenting Program), TFCBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and MATCH (Modular Approach to Therapy for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, or Conduct Problems). These programs deliver evidence-based interventions designed to strengthen families and support individual growth.
